About the Museum
The Cornelius Low House was built in 1741 by a prominent merchant, Cornelius Low. The house sits on a bluff overlooking what was the Colonial port community of Raritan Landing. The house was purchased by the County of Middlesex in 1979 from the last of 5 private families to own it since it was built. It remains today as it stood then and is one of two remaining structures from that commmunity. The Low House is used as a state and local history museum, displaying changing exhibits which run for 12-15 months.

With our thanks to the The Cornelius Low House/Middlesex County Museum for providing information and photographs
