The Bronx Museum of the Arts is a twentieth-century and contemporary art museum, founded in 1971, to serve the culturally diverse population of the Bronx and the greater New York metropolitan area.

How to get there
Train:
4, B, or D to 161st/Yankee Stadium.
D (before 4 p.m.) or B (after 4 p.m. and on weekends) to 167th.

Bus:
BX1 or 2 to 165th and Grand Concourse.
BMX 4 Liberty Express to 165th and Grand Concourse.

Car:
Discounted parking is available across from the Museum on 165th St.

From Manhattan:
Take the FDR Drive to Willis Avenue Bridge. Stay to your left onto the Major Deegan North. Exit at 138th Street and Grand Concourse. Proceed to 165th Street.

Or
Take Riverside Drive to 155th Street/Macombs Dam Bridge. Cross bridge to Jerome Avenue and proceed to 165th Street. Turn right onto 165th Street and proceed to Grand Concourse

From Brooklyn and Queens:
Take BQE to the Triboro Bridge to the Major Deegan. Exit at 138th Street and Grand Concourse. Proceed to 165th Street.

From Cross Bronx Expressway:
Take #87/New York State Thruway South (Major Deegan). Exit at 161st Street/Yankee Stadium. Make a left at light and proceed to 165th Street. Turn right onto 165th Street. Turn right onto 165th Street and proceed to Grand Concourse.

The Collections
Over 800 modern & contemporary works by African, Latin American & Asian artists & American descendants from these geographical areas.

Exhibitions from the Permanent Collection and changing exhibitions focus on a wide range of topics including historical and contemporary issues of cultural relevance to the Bronx.
