The
Dickinson Homestead c. 1823, birthplace and home of poet
Emily Dickinson (American
Poet - 1830-1886) was
born there in 1830 and lived there for all but fifteen years
of her life. She died there in 1886.
The Evergreens 1856 home of her brother
Austin & her sister in law Susan.
Designated
as a National Historic Site in 1963 and since 1977, the
neighborhood has been on the National Register as the Dickinson
Historic District.
